Lots has happened in the last month. Lots happens all the time when you have little people in your house. Every week a new little milestone…. Avery & River got a new bike trailer, which we are loving at the moment. Goes a lot faster than the pram and mumma gets some exercise too! We have been spending lots of afternoons near the beach cooling down and enjoying this beautiful weather. River is nearly crawling – sooo close! She is rocking back and forwards and gets around the room so it can’t be long. Avery is all over the house now crawling very fast and pulling up on everything that is taller than him. Also there is lots of planking going on ha ha. They are definitely very active babies and i love that. River has also just learnt to clap her hands and is very excited whenever someone notices her newfound skill. This day we took a little time out as a family and spent the afternoon at one of the beautiful beaches. Pussy willows in the grass, sand on our feet and a beautiful calm ocean near sunset. Couldn’t be happier right now. Life is beautiful xxx
This year I have started a new little photo project. Hopefully one that I can continue for a long time. Moments are precious. But they are even more precious when you suddenly have little people in your lives. I want to remember everything possible from this time. I’m sure that after many months of sleep deprivation the brain stops remembering things and I don’t want to ever forget these moments when our babies are young. Their first giggles, the first little words and babbles, the new little skills they learn and the look on their faces when they master something new. I want to remember it all. I want to remember how it feels when they wake me up in the morning (usually by poking me in the eye whilst giggling away) I want to remember the toys they are in to, the songs we sing and the stories we read. So I have started a 10 on 10 project…..
So on the 10th of every month I will continue to take (at least) 10 photos of my children over the course of the day (10 hours). This first post here is January. Avery & River are 7 months old. Avery has started commando crawling and is loving the freedom it gives him to explore the house. River is not quite crawling yet but is practising her fine motor skills and is very clever with her little hands. We have lots of “da da da da da” words in the house now. No “mumma” yet….. but I’m sure it’s not far away. Enjoy xxx
Preparations and laughter at the girls’ house….. vows at Margaret River’s St Thomas Moore Church….. celebrations and more laughter amongst the tall karri trees followed by a gorgeous party with heartfelt speeches at Window’s Estate.
Liz & Murray – your day was absolutely fantastic. It is so obvious that you are perfectly suited for each other. Thank you for having me document such a momentous day in your lives xx
A First Look in the thick of the pine forest. Actually we almost got stuck out in the middle of that forest. Some photographer’s car decided to pull a flat battery trick in the middle of the events. Thank goodness we had some backup as it would have been a looooong afternoon walking back to civilisation he he. Their day proceeded with a beautiful ceremony underneath the dramatic lime stone rocks at Gnarabup Beach. Followed by some amazing photo locations which of some are secret of courseEnjoy these favourites of mine Thalia & Luke. It was a huge pleasure to take part of your most special day and you guys rocked it all the way from start to finish!
There is a story that goes with this wedding, this amazing couple, their love for their daughter that is so big that frankly it would make you cry if you were at their wedding and witnessed it all. I did. And I’m pretty sure everyone else did. I will let Jessie tell their story….
“Me and Jordan met as 17 year olds at a youth band night run by my dad. I was asked by my dad to MC the night as there was no one else for the job, and Jordan was the drummer in one of the bands. We met after the gig through friends, and the rest is history. 8 years later, we have travelled a bit, lived in Bunbury together for a year, are best friends, soul mates and have the most beautiful little daughter Poppy who is the sunshine of our lives. We make each other laugh, and are blissfully happy.
Poppy was a perfectly healthy baby until she was 5.5 months old, when we took her to hospital with lethargy and a bit of difficulty breathing. She was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy and was in heart failure. She spent 54 days in PMH, of which 40 days were in ICU where she was in an induced coma and on life support. We were told we may never see her eyes open again.
She came home in September despite us being told to prepare for her passing, which was truly a miracle.
We have recently been told her heart is functioning on the lower end of normal, which is absolutely incredible given what we were told only months ago. We feel so incredibly lucky. They think now that the cause of Poppy’s dilated cardiomyopathy could have been a viral myocarditis, due to the fact she has recovered significantly, but they cannot tell for sure. All we know is that we are so blessed to have her here and we haven’t been able to wipe the smiles off our faces since!!!! ”
