I look forward to meeting you xxx

BABY OWEN | DUNSBOROUGH PHOTOGRAPHER

I met Owen and his family when he was less than 2 weeks old. Big brother Mike was so proud of his little brother, it was just gorgeous to see that sibling love. Mike was following me around making sure I knew what I was doing and being very protective of his little brother – so cute! And how cool is Mike’s bike!

Owen had his mind set to stay awake for nearly the entire photo shoot and he was more interested in what was happening around him that having a sleep . We managed to get a little snoozy picture at the end. Such a gorgeous family xxx

WHY YOU SHOULD PRINT YOUR PHOTOS | DUNSBOROUGH PHOTOGRAPHER

So, you’ve had your photo session and now you are wondering whether you should get any prints done??

Let me tell you 7 great reasons for why you should print your photos:

  1. Of course cost is a significant factor in deciding whether to buy almost anything. However, one reason to print your photos is the cost. Good professional photographers offer print packages and will get their photos printed in a professional lab. This means that your photos are of the highest quality possible and the significance of the photo lasts forever. Photo prints make excellent but inexpensive gifts for just about anyone in your life, and are a great way to preserve your favorite moments and memories while spending just a little pocket change. How many times have you not spent $400 on a whole new outfit, but you might only wear those clothes for the next year and then they either don’t fit, you don’t like them anymore or they are out of fashion. Your photos will never be out of fashion, they are your family heirlooms.
  2. Photo prints are a great way of archiving your life and remembering those precious moments. Your weddings day, your babies first few weeks of life, taking their first step, your family holidays etc…… Taking photos is really just the first step. Once you have those images captured, print your favorite photos so you can enjoy them and look at them for years to come. At the rate technology is moving, your digital files may be outdated before you know it and DVDs and hard drives don’t last forever either!
  3. Share the STORY Digital photo sharing is a great way to share your memories with people quickly and easily all over the world through Facebook, your blog or emails. But, I still think the best way to share your photos is to print them and give them to people, and look at them together and tell stories about the photos you took. Printed photos tell a story from your life, whether it was a family holiday, wedding or event, or just a random day. They allow you to pass those memories on to your friends and family. Even as we all grow older, those memories last forever. Photo books are a great way to showing your favourites photos to your friends and families and make great decorations for your Coffee Table.
  4. Printed photos are also a great way to back up your photos. We’ve all heard the horror stories of people losing thousands of precious photos due to computer failure or malfunction. Don’t let this happen to you! Print your photos and store them safely. That way, you have physical and digital copies, so your memories are always safe.
  5. What better way to decorate your home or office with your favorite photos! I can print your photos in a variety of different sizes, from small wallets to large prints and canvas. Or, take it to the next level and order a mounted enlargement for an even more impressive display. Personalize any room, whether it is photos of the favourite people in your life, or cool artistic photos you’ve taken.
  6. Let’s face it…photo prints take us all back to our childhood. They are a return to the sentimental and simpler days of sharing moments and memories, before you had hundreds of photo and social media sites to choose from. Sometimes, a good reason to print photos is simply because you miss having the people around. Printed photos invoke much more emotion than staring at an image on a computer screen. You can hold the printed photo in your hand or hang it on your wall, which makes the memory that much more tangible and real. I know I wish I had photos of some of the precious people in my life that are here no more, but I lost my negatives and never got them printed. I can’t get that time back and now I wish I had great photo of both my grand dads that I could look at every day to remind myself of the amazing people they were.
  7. It is so easy to order your prints. All your photos are uploaded in an online gallery after your session and all you have to do is choose which ones you want printed. You don’t even have to go to the store yourself. I will either send them out or hand deliver them to you. It doesn’t get any easier than that!
So now that you are going to get your photos printed, you might be wondering what size prints to get. It can be confusing to look at all the measurements and try and figure out which ones will suit what area of your house. Check out the image here for comparison of the different sizes. Please note that some measurements will crop your photo. The ones that says FULL FRAME do not crop your photo but rather enlarge it exactly the way it is:
COFFEE TABLE PHOTO BOOKS:
Photo books are such a great way to showcase your photos and trust me you will bring that photo book out 10 times more often than if you just have your photos on a disc. They also makes gorgeous presents and are a great way of capturing your family’s photo session or your babies first year. These photo books are available for purchase for all my portrait clients. They are hardcover and come with a dust jacket for extra protection. Photos are printed both on the front and back of the book. I design the book together with you choosing your most favourite photos to include. I simply love these books and will be making a few for my own photos for sure. Have fun in selection your photos for print xx

Rebecca - Thanks so much for the reminder Maz! I have hundreds and hundreds of photo’s on my computer that I NEED to get sorted and printed – as well as some professional shots as well. I have already lost 2 years of my kids lives due to my laptop dying and I don’t want to lose everything – so thank you for posting this!!! This is going to be done TONIGHT! And I LOVE the idea of the coffee table book! I can’t wait to get mine done when we get our family portraits done later this year!! :)

Maz - I totally agree Bec, I mean the whole reason we have photos done is so that we can enjoy them and look at them. I too have made a promise to myself to sort out some of our family photos and get more prints done :-)

BABY MARLEY | DUNSBOROUGH PHOTOGRAPHER

I’m so in love with Marley! Her mum Carrie was so lucky to win a free session and I met Marley when she was 3 weeks old. Babies are generally easier to photograph when under 2 weeks of age, but Marley proved me wrong. She was such a dream to work with as she happily snoozed through our session. Such a gorgeous little girl xx

DUNSBOROUGH PHOTOGRAPHER | MAZZY STYLE

Photography is my passion, this is my life…..

I love capturing the love of real moments as they unfold, be it your wedding day or an afternoon in your house or the park. My style of photography is natural, emotive and non-intrusive. I love the quirky parts and the little details that makes the big difference.

I have always loved photography and was very fortunate to grow up with a father that shares the same love of photography and loved teaching me as well. I remember looking at his black and white photos as a child truly fascinated by the art. I started taking photos seriously in 1999 and had tremendous fun hanging out in the dark room with my friends shooting B/W film. We would pose for each other and walk the streets taking street portraits ( I was living in Europe at the time) to then run home and develop the film and patiently sit and wait for images to appear in the crates of chemicals. I got my first digital SLR camera in 2007 and love the artistic opportunities that digital photography offers.

My aim is to tell stories.

The story of your wedding day.

The story of your love.

The story of your family.

The stories of real life.

This is why I love capturing couples in love and the love shared in families. Every wedding is different and every family is different.

This is also why you will not find me at your wedding setting up massive studio lights, umbrellas, reflectors and bossing people around. I like to be as invisible as possible. I try to capture the real moments as they unfold. Of course I will help guide you for a specific shot with your bridal party if you want me to. But mostly I try to capture the day as it happens.

To me it is all about the love…. The love between the groom and his beautiful bride, between family and friends, between parents and their children, the moments of hugs, tears of joy and laughter. I feel truly honoured to share in these moments of touches, love & joy.

I also have a real love for vintage and retro. So if you want to ride your old crusty bike in your wedding gown, wear your gum boots or you have a fun and funky idea for your family shoot – I’m the photographer that will love to capture that moment and have a laugh with you as we do.

If you want to capture a day in your life, while your having a coffee at your favourite cafe, while your children and you are hanging out at home reading books or baking a cake, or having a play at the beach – I’m your photographer.

Maz
